How it affects you

From November 19 to December 18, 2023, security detainees and prisoners may attend detention, arraignment and noncriminal hearings by video instead of appearing in court. The arrangement ends earlier if the home-front emergency declaration ends first, and detention without an in-person hearing may be extended for up to 14 days at a time.
